Using my now approved brand identity, I have designed and commissioned new swag to better represent our company at upcoming conventions.&#38;nbsp; I noticed a pattern during these conventions that many corporations use a mascot to give a positive association with their branding. Considering that much of our branding is associated with Santa Barbara I begin thinking of animals that are exclusive to our area. This led me to the idea of having the Channel Islands Fox be our mascot! I then created illustrations of Island Fox and comissioned a plush designer to bring it to life. These new items will help us maintain a more cohesive and professional presence as well as further building brand loyalty.

One of the many objectives I tackled during my rebranding effort was the refresh of Bio SB’s packaging. Bio SB has hundreds of products that includes a spectrum from antibodies, ancillaries, to instruments. This means that there must be a common visual language than can be flexible with different types of packaging. I created a thread between all of our products which is our three dot motif with a blue accent. This allows the products to be recognized in a series as well as the blue bringing themes of medical and cleanliness.&#38;nbsp;

Throughout my year of spearheading Bio SB’s rebranding I learned so much about what makes a design successful especially in the biotech industry. This included how I can directly appeal to our core demographic. These come from face-to-face interaction with our clients during our international conferences. This emphasises the importance of making a good impression on our customers during those conventions.

	My philosophy for approaching the rebranding of Bio SB inc. is to take the old logo and give it a facelift. In an effort to give our symbol some identity I broke it down into our core themes. These three themes are closely tied to our molecular three dot motif. Each dot represents clarity in diagnosis, strong signals and fast communication.

	I was so excited to lead at Bio SB as the Head of Design. 

Bio SB is a very successful cancer diagnostics company that has a portfolio of loyal customers for almost 25 years.


I did not want to retract from the decades of brand awareness that Bio SB has earned throughout its time in the industry. I wanted to create something that is still recognized by their customers while showing them they have a fresh look.
